I’ve really enjoyed completing community service this semester. It’s opened my eyes to new ways I can be useful and help others, even when I can’t be there in person. One of the most meaningful experiences was donating a gift for kids this Christmas, and I hope it brings them joy and creates lasting memories. It feels good to know I’m making a positive impact, no matter how small.
I think letters are such a special way to express a greater level of sensitivity, especially when they are addressed to people who are going through difficult times. In this case, as the daughter of a strong woman who overcame breast cancer with great determination, I was very happy to have the opportunity to express my feelings to others who are going through the same situation. It is very difficult to go through difficult times and not be able to express yourself or let your feelings overflow, so I hope that these women find some comfort in these letters.
Participating in career fairs gives us a great opportunity to explore our public speaking skills, our argumentative skills, and also to increase our professional connections. At this career fair, I had the opportunity to meet and talk to companies that I wouldn't normally go to, to find out what they are like, or even if they have openings in my area. Being able to talk to other students who are also in the same situation and having the opportunity to exchange opinions is very valuable.
I really appreciate it when someone takes the extra time just to see other people succeed. There is no exact science about what you need to say and where you need to be to ensure that you will succeed. What there is is a path of trial and error that teaches us to always improve, and hearing from other people what they did to minimize their mistakes and be driven by their successes is enriching for our journey.
Taking part in this survey helped me learn more about a subject that I have little or no knowledge of. I thought it was a great way to educate the public in a light-hearted way that forces us to do some research in order to answer the questions, and perhaps go even further if someone is interested. I like to know a lot about what I am most interested in, and I also like to know a little bit about everything. You never know when you will be in a professional conversation circle and questions like these may come up.
I really enjoyed this type of community service. We often think of volunteer work as helping those who are going through some difficulty or who need some special assistance, and we often forget about those who are doing this work to help others almost every day. These people also need our help, and, as in this case, a letter saying how valuable and important their service is to our community can change someone's day in a positive way. Even though a letter won't solve all problems, words also have the power to change things.
I like to think that, in a way, even if I don't dedicate more of my time to a cause right now, I can contribute by buying some items that will certainly be of great use to someone. In my opinion, one good deed leads to another, and knowing the benefits of this small gesture can motivate me, and also motivate others to do the same, or even greater things. I will work so that, in the near future, I will be able to dedicate more of my time and knowledge, bringing something positive and of great impact to some community cause.
