I went to 409 ayers for Room in the Inn, and served the people who came there for a night to sleep. I was able to talk with the homeless people, and get to know them.
I got rebounds for the Madonna students, and would pass them the ball until they would make it. I have a golf tournament this weekend, and I could've gone straight to practice golf after school, but i decided to do this instead. It was the last one of the year so I knew I had to help serve. The students always have fun so it is truly meaningful to do.
I played basketball with the students, would let them beat me while playing against me, encourage them to make the shot, and more.
I really like serving at Madonna because the students all look forward to us helping them. They always have a smile when we are there, and they love playing basketball with us. It is a meaningful way to do service hours because you can truly see how much they appreciate us being there.
I helped the kids learn what the rosary meant and taught them about different people every day. I lead them through fun activities, art projects, and bible readings.
I was able to get people to park safely while keeping the flow of traffic going.
I was the leader of the 1st graders and the 4th graders and taught them about the rosary, led them throughout the schedule by leading them through fun activities, art projects, and bible readings.
More people should use this as a way of doing their hours. It's quick and worth the time.
