I had the opportunity to share my experience as a first-gen student on campus to high school students visiting. I got to share tips and experiences that have helped me be successful on campus and was personally rewarding as it was a full circle moment for me.
I interviewed high school seniors for the Honors College Path Program, helping evaluate applicants and representing the student perspective during the selection process.
Participated in a game night with Honors College Path interviewees to help create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and foster connections between applicants and current students.
I escorted high school seniors during Fellowship Interview Day to college classes so they could experience a real college-level course in a subject that interested them. I also shared my experiences as an Honors Scholar and offered perspective on navigating the transition from high school to college.
I had the opportunity to call prospective students who had applied to the University of Arkansas and encourage them to apply to the Honors College Path Program. I also shared about my experience at the U of A and in the Path Program. It was a great volunteering opportunity where I got to interact with students whose shoes I was once in and provide clarification on questions I too had.
As a mentor in a fellow Path Scholar's mentorship program, I had the opportunity to volunteer with the entire cohort of mentees and mentors at potters house. We sorted clothing and home goods across the Springdale store and socialized with our mentees. It was a great experience to serve others while building relationships and fostering community.
I got to sit on a student panel at Convocation and answer questions from Dr. Hodge about my experience in Honors. I spoke about Hotz Hall, Study Abroad, Extracurriculars, and research. I helped deliver a personal perspective to prospective students and parents about the honors experience at the UofA.
I got to table at the honors college ambassadors table for Convocation where I helped answer questions for students and parents. I really enjoyed speaking to prospectives honors students and providing insight based off of my honors experiences.
