I think it’s a great idea to be able to donate for community service. I like knowing I had a direct impact on someone else. I hope they receive my donation and it makes a difference.
I had a lot of fun making vision boards. I haven't made one in a few years so it was great to be able to update my collection. I think it is import to have a plan for your life and this experience allowed me to stay focused on my values.
I attended the McKinsey Resume Workshop. While much of the information was familiar since I’ve participated in several resume-building workshops, it was a great refresher on professional etiquette. I also appreciated Ms. Watters’ insights on what recruiters look for—she was clear, concise, and informative.
I had a great time creating notes for the elderly. At first it was hard to think of something to say to a stranger, but I thought about the value our elders add to society. They have a ton of wisdom to give so my love letters touched on that.
I applied for two scholarships that were giving money to people who are members of Baptists churches. I like that Christians are giving money to other Christians. Hopefully, I am awarded a scholarship.
I enjoyed volunteering at the South Carolina State Homecoming Game. I was able to worked concessions again for the third time. It is my favorite position to work. I like keeping busy and we had a lot of customers this time around.
I love knowing that I may have made someone's day better. My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor, so this truly hits home. I hope we, as a community, continue to reach out to these amazing women.
I enjoyed hearing about all the opportunities available in the film and music industry. These are hard networks to gain and the fact that this organization offers it so easily is amazing. Although, this is not my chosen field, I love to see black people succeed.
I'm glad I was able to listen to the UNCF info session. It is always good to hear about all the opportunities out there. I never knew UNCF donates almost as much as the federal government. I will be sure to apply.
I was able to communicate with multiple different companies. I also go a lot swag from each one. I really enjoyed it.
