Working with Memphis para Todos is meaningful as it provides the Hispanic community covid vaccines and I support them by serving as an interpreter. It's a joy to meet families and individuals who are hesitant to get vaccinated. Memphis para Todos partnered with Shot rx and The Haven for HIV testing and information. I hope to continue partnering with them to serve the Memphis community.
I love working with Latino Memphis because they work towards equity and access to resources like vaccine drives for the Hispanic community. The volunteers are great, caring, and using their bilingualism to better our community.
I love to work with Memphis Para Todos who's intent is to continue providing opportunities for Covid vaccinations for our Hispanic community. I serve as a bilingual volunteer, answering questions, and assisting clients in filling out the questionaire. I'm grateful to work with people who are passionate about using their talents
Volunteering with Latino Memphis is a heart job and I'm grateful to partner with them as an interpreter to serve marginalized populations. I believe strongly in herd immunity and seeing yourself represented, your language spoken, and questions answered puts people at ease on getting the Covid vaccine. I assisted people in filling out forms by reading it to them, interpreting for emergency workers and providing comfort to the apprehensive. It was certainly an enriching experience.
It's important to me to spend time cleaning up parks as it is a place for family, mediation and de-stressor. I often go to Shelby Farms with my family and truly enjoy the grounds. Cleaning up the park was one way for me to give back to my community and make sure the park stays clean and safe for everyone.
I've always wanted to assist clients with applying for citizenship. Volunteering with FLIC was truly an incredible experience for me working online with several clients to fill out their application. My first client was funny and has been living in the US for twenty years. We had great conversation as we worked through the application. My second client needed a Haitian Interpreter which was interesting exchange of information. The application was for an elderly mom who also had an interpreter. I know that my assistance made an impact on their lives and I'm richer for giving my time and skills.
