Through networking at my full time job, I was given the opportunity to teach online Video Pro workshops where I demonstrated editing techniques and skills to students/young adults looking to expand their knowledge on Video Production. Being able to teach others really allowed me to teach myself, as well as pick up on new ideas and techniques that I had previously never thought of. I also met a lot of wonderful creators through teaching the workshops and was able to make new connections and potential collaborations.

I was able to volunteer part time as a teaching assistant to a student I used to take lessons with. He now teaches private piano lessons and I was able to hop onboard with him to do zoom/facetime lessons and help him with lesson plans. I had been classically trained in piano all my life but had stopped when I started college. Being part of this experience and teaching young students has helped me retouch my skills as well as learn a lot of new techniques and skills. I taught students from ages 4 up to 11 and they taught me a lot about not only piano but how to navigate such a weird and uncertain time. Being with them those few days a week really allowed me to ease my tensions and do something I love.
This volunteer experience is something I'm very passionate about. I volunteer two hours a week with special needs students in a Dance Program called Lucy and Company. I love every minute I spend with children. They teach me more about life than most other people do. I get to learn about all the highs and lows of their lives and interact with them in a personal and meaningful way. This program was unfortunately cut short due to COVID-19 which was heartbreaking for me, but I feel better knowing that they're being safe and healthy even if that means not being able to spend time with them every week.
Attending this Girl's Scout event was an interactive and fun way to encourage young girls to be confident and feel beautiful and motivate them to strive for bigger goals. Seeing the number of girls that signed up to attend this invite was exciting and being able to meet all these young women and work with them was also super fun.
I was given the opportunity to volunteer my time by giving a diversity and inclusion workshop at Rossview Highschool to the multicultural club that I founded. It was both humbling and educational for myself even though I was there to teach the students. I learned a lot about the students' views and personal experiences through discussion and got to see another perspective I had not known prior.
I was able to give a free photography and videography workshop to the Rossview Yearbook team before the production of their book started in August. Giving this workshop to the students allowed them to enhance their Adobe editing skills as well as gain new knowledge and learn new tips on how to maximize their time and how to preplan their shots before going into a fast-paced environment.
