She didn't want to do yoga but I gave her materials I printed in case she wanted to practice on her own. She went to her room to get things to color so we colored a little then played Trouble one round.
We went to see Smallfoot and afterward got sonic! We talked a bit about my birthday, and I tried to make her laugh by telling her about my cat having fleas. She enjoyed the movie and food.
I brought McDonald's for her to eat and she was a bit shy at first and waited to eat. But we were reading her poems and discussing her faith in God. Then I gave her a gift of markers and calligraphy teaching and we made some cards and poems together.
We played cards, she taught me two games. Then, she let me read her story so far she's worked on for the book she's writing. Then she painted my nails!
Met Kris, my new mentee for the first time. She seems very timid.
A bittersweet last hangout. We had our closing meeting and then went bowling for the first time with each other. This was awesome because we both got really into competing against each other but also still encouraging the other person. It really showed more of her personality. Then we went for Mexican afterward and I was teaching her some Spanish. I gave her a note I wrote her and we had an awesome time just talking with each other.
Took Taylor rock climbing for her first time. This was very challenging for her both mentally and physically but by the end she realized she could do it and she felt better doing it when people were pushing her and believing in her. We then had quesadillas at the rock gym and afterward, got manicures (which was also a first for her!).
Sorry I'm recording this so late!
I took Taylor to a Grizzlies game with my boyfriend. She loves basketball and it was fantastic to get to see her get super into the zone and engrossed in the game. We had a blast at dancing and being silly to Cardi B songs, and we all had lunch at Sonic together. She told me on the way back about how a conversation she would have with her best friend, who has a crush on her, was making her nervous. So I listened and tried to give some advice but encourage her as well.
Taylor and I went to the Agricenter for a Plant sale. We found really great deals on plants and lots of free buckets, so she helped me carry them around. She continued to laugh with me while I kept taking more buckets and getting really excited by the plants. We kept joking around with each other all day- she has really opened up with me. Then we were singing to songs she likes in the car and discovered that we both really like hip hop and rap, and that we have a lot to learn from each other in these genres. We tried to get our nails done but we wouldn't have enough time because we were in traffic so we made a plan to go again. We then spent some time at Goodwill just poking around. She found a hand drum that she played the whole time, so I bought it for her!
