This was a virtual event where we talked about diversity and the climate of everything going on our world today. We also discussed intersectionality and learned about how to get more involved politically. We discussed the effective ways to have difficult conversations with friends and family.

For week 8 our last week of the mentorship we talked about goal setting. We talked about her future goals and what she wants to accomplish.This was also our last meeting so we said our goodbyes.
Week 7 of the mentorship we talked about organizations, leadership roles, clubs she could get involved. My mentee was excited to get involved on campus and to see what was available at her school.
For our week 6 meeting of the mentorship, we talked about the best way to go about doing teamwork. We discussed how to be a good teammate, and how to motivate others.
Week 5 of mentorship. That week was spent discussing building a professional network. We talked about using social media as well as networking social media like Linkedin.
4th week meeting with my mentee. The rubric for this meeting focused on landing a dream internship. We talked about how to write a resume, interview and attire.
3rd meeting of the mentorship. I spoke with my mentee about the type of college resources that are available. From counseling, to tutoring and career fairs. We talked about the best ways to take advantage of those resources.
Second week of mentorship. This meeting we discussed time management and what tactics are best for going into college.
First week of mentorship. I met my mentee and we spent the hour getting to know eachother. Discussing life, college and experiences.
This was the first week of my summer mentorship. This was a training session to learn how the mentoring would work and who our mentee's were. We learned how to use the application to have video chat and the rubric for the 8 week mentorship program.
