Packaged food at "Feed my Starving Children" in Plano, TX for two hours. My family and some friends made an assembly line and scooped, bagged, sealed, and packaged boxes of food to send to people in another country.
Helped write the labels for the boxes that everyone was making at Zeta!
I went to Grace church and volunteered for rEcess! I go there at 5 because it was our first time and we needed time to eat the dinner they had for us and then learn about the important rules for working with the children and their siblings. I was paired up with a girl that volunteers every month and we watched an autistic girl who was about 7. We would follow her around wherever she wanted to go and play with her while making sure she's being safe and not bothering any of the other kids. She also had a brother there that we would run into every once in a while and they would play. After a couple hours watching her I had to go sit In on the official training where we watched several videos about why rEcess is so important and how to treat both the disabled kids as well as their siblings. After this I went back and kept playing until all the parents came and picked up their kids!
I went with my family to serve food in downtown Dallas. We made all the food at the kitchen at our youth building and packed it up into our cars to drive downtown. Once we got there we set up all the food and helped serve everyone and get to know them.
hung out with all the lifesource kids and helped with homework, played outside, and stayed late to put all the tables and chairs up
