It was super fun working with Anthony and Tamara to build the tallest gingerbread house! We worked for the full two hours to put together our little gingerbread town. I had never participated in the gingerbread house competition before, so I'm glad that I took the opportunity to participate in it during my senior year.

It was a lot of fun to give out prizes and interact with the students. I led the ping-pong toss station and it was nice to get to see these kids have fun. I would definitely volunteer at this event again.
I attended Dr. Ram Natarajan's preview to the course he would be teaching during the Spring 2020 semester, "Violence". It was interesting to hear him talk about how violence is both cultural and socially constructed based on the environment of the time. I was glad that he brought up the subject of race, such as how the rape of slaves was not considered to be "violence" at the time, although now we know and see that as tremendous violence. It demonstrates how our views of violence change and how particular groups of people have had their pain and suffering be ignored.
I attended a honors course preview for the upcoming Shedunnit course. This course is being taught by Padma Viswanathan and Justin Barnum. I had taken another course offered by Barnum during the Spring 19 semester, which I really enjoyed, so I was interested in learning more about this new course. It was interesting to hear about women in history who have committed crimes and how they are represented in our media.
I was glad to be able to help set up for H.I.P.P.Y. pre-school graduation and direct the kids to their necessary areas. It was fun meeting the kids and keeping them entertained by showing them around the area. I also assisted with clean up after the event and getting the kids their goodie bags.
I loved being able to help out with the More Than Pink walk! It was great to meet so many members of the community and cheer on participants of the walk. We also helped hand out dog treats which was great! Glad I was able to contribute to the success of this event.
I helped with Path Interview Weekend by holding the door and greeting Path Program interview candidates. I was glad to get to speak with the candidates over dinner and share my experience as a Path student.
I attended Adulting III Session. It was great to gain some general information about insurance plans and selecting the best option for me. I'm still on my parents' insurance, but there is a lot I don't understand about insurance so this session was very useful to me. The guest speaker was very informative and did her best to explain a very confusing topic.
Volunteered with SIA after SRM. We helped clean up the garden to prepare for Spring planting and fed the chickens. Was happy to get to learn about different herbs and all that Tri Cycle does for the local community!
I helped Katie rearrange the furniture in the Honors College lounge to prepare for her wedding on Saturday, to make up for an Honors College Event. Also vacuumed some of the furniture to ensure that it was clean for the day of the event. I was glad to be able to help her prepare for her big day!
