Description | The Annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is Friday, February 18 through Monday, February 21. Shelby Farms Park Conservancy is inviting our park guests to become a citizen scientist and help us track the bird species and populations within the park. Participating is easy, fun to do alone or with others, and can be done anywhere within the park. Step 1: Decide where you will watch birds within Shelby Farms Park. Step 2: Watch birds for 15 minutes or more, at least once over the four days, February 18-21, 2022. Please sign in Step 3: Count all the birds you see or hear within your planned time/location and use the best tool for sharing your bird sightings:
Using the Merlin Bird ID app to identify and the eBird Mobile app to enter your bird list is the best strategy for first time birders. Additional information on the apps and user support will be available at the Visitor Center at Shelby Farms Park. |
