Description
"Be a Litter Getter"! Kick off our 2025 goal of picking up 2,025 pieces of litter every month during MLK Days of Service weekend at Shelby Farms Park!

Help us keep the Park clean year long and reach our goal of 2,025 pieces picked up for each month and 25,000 pieces for the year!

Start this challenge during MLK Days of Service weekend, January 18- 20, 2025, from 10am- 4pm.

Please arrive at the First Horizon Visitor Center’s Front Desk at the beginning of your shift to pick up your trash bags and gloves. You can park in the Visitor Center parking lot. Our Front Desk Ambassadors will suggest a trail for you to help clean up and help you set up your Litterati app if you haven't already. Please dress for the weather as you will be outside in the Park.

Using the Litterati app enables us to capture more litter pollution data, create better prevention strategies, and allows you to track your impact! Litterati is powered by machine learning and geotagging technology, enabling us to better identify litter, determine trends, and create more effective prevention tactics.

Ready to join us?
  1. Register here through Volunteer Odyssey so that we can count you in.
  2. Download the FREE Litterati - Cleaning The Earth app to join the event
    1. iOS  app store
    2. Android app store
  3. Follow the prompts in the app and Use code "JAN2025" or "613996" to join the event in the Litterati app
  4. Using your phone camera, take photos as you pick up litter. This is how the app tracks the pieces as well as the data collected.
Pro Tips:
Litterati uses a camera within the app to document the litter as you pick it up. It's easier to use a buddy system when using the app - one person picks up the litter and the other documents it in the app.
