I like that everyone is considered a 'guest'. I would like to find out if there is funding available from outside sources to repair and brighten the bathrooms and provide snacks during the holding period. The people that work at the center are very kind and seem committed to the mission of holy hospitality and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve though I don't feel as if I did a lot. I will be participating again and I connected with a volunteer couple whose church provides shelter for RITI and I will be volunteering with them in the very near future. Thank you. OH and, KG, the Volunteer Odyssey representative was great!
I enjoyed the opportunity to meet other MLH employees. It was interesting to share with the guests and interact with them. The facility is organized and the guests functioned well with the lay out. As a volunteer, it helped me operate within the setting and be myself. I felt comfortable and hoped this translated with the guests.
