Cleaned flower beds for a community center
I was able to serve at the annual generosi"tea" event.
LeBonheur's champion event truly gave me a sense of pride as I was able to serve and relate to others and share my love for LeBonheur and its mission.
Helped unpack pallets and stock shelves at my local food bank. Reorganized freezers and prepared for appointments set for that day. We stocked closets and other back rooms with surplus food.
I packed and spread easter eggs as well as planned.
It was not bad! We pulled some weeds and put brush in the compost area. Overall very friendly crew! enjoyed the happy energy from everyone, and it was a sunny day!
During the Emerging Leaders and Social Change Scholars interview process, I served as a check-in assistant and ice breaker facilitator. This experience was very fun and entertaining. Being involved in this event allowed me to connect with the potential students. Supervising the ice breakers allowed me to discover the different personalities and backgrounds of each student. I can honestly say that I encountered some unique students.
While assisting the EL/SC organization interviews, I was assigned as a Team Leader. My job was essentially to keep my designated group on track through the process and lead them to the correct rooms when we were directed to. I sat through each event they did and I even participated to an extent which I think made some of the interviewees more comfortable. I interacted with other Emerging Leaders and Social Change Leaders from different cohorts while I volunteered. I think that the experience to volunteer during the interviews was very interesting because I ended up doing my interview over the phone instead of in person due to the distance from the university to my home and the timing. I liked doing the true colors activity because I finally was able to understand what everyone meant when they talked about it.
