It was honestly really sad. I mainly focused on giving food and coats to the little kids. Always glad to help
Great people to work with and a good cause.
My experience was great. I love helping out with the community. I had fun playing games with the dogs and little kids. I also had fun help cleaning up and setting up games for kids. If I could I would do it again
Everyone had an enjoyable time. Really needed more attractions for kids and families.
It was a great experience working with the volunteers who showed up. I am available for other opportunities in the future.
At the Day of Merrymaking Festival at the Overton Park, I was assigned to the children's arts and crafts station. I helped children paint on rocks things they would like to see put into the park in the future. Some children painted flowers because they would like for a community garden to be placed in the Overton Park. Another child, painted waves on a rock because they would like for the Overton Park to offer water slides in the summertime. I also helped with taking in donations that will go to fixing up the park even more. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in this community event; to see so many come together in order to keep the Overton park clean and flourishing is just amazing. The fact that a whole community comes together once a year in order to make Overton park even better in the future shows that there are still people out there who want to bring the community together. This event also showed me the value of having a strong unit of people in just one community. If a park can be kept clean and expanded every year, I can just imagine how many more things can be set in place to make the Memphis community even better.
