About
The Future Leaders of STEM Mentorship Training Program (FLSMTP) was established for medical students to mentor children in Grades 3-8 at John P. Freeman K-8 Optional School who are enrolled in the Future Leaders of STEM (FLS) program. Future Leaders of STEM is a year-long STEM accessibility program. The program runs from October - May during the 2023-24 school year.
The following sessions for the Mentorship Training Program are as follows:
- The opening White Coat Ceremony for the Future Leaders of STEM on October 3, 2023 at 6pm in the Nash Atrium on the UTHSC Campus.
- At least one Tuesday session during each month from 3:15-4:15pm, including short orientations for those students joining the mentorship program.
- One on-campus event (tentative for Spring 2024). Details forthcoming.
At the end of the program, medical students will receive a mentoring certificate.
