About

Help bring the Mekong Memphis Festival to life! On Sunday, October 25, Memphis celebrates 50 years since Vietnamese, Laotian, Cambodian, and Thai refugee families first made their home here. The festival fills the grounds next to the Vietnamese Buddhist Association of Memphis (Chùa Chánh Tâm) on Jefferson Avenue with live music, cultural performances, family activities, and Cambodian, Laotian, Thai, and Vietnamese food from more than 30 vendors.

Volunteers are the heart of the day. You'll help set up the festival grounds, guide guests from parking to the entrance, welcome attendees at check-in, and support the vendors and artists who make the festival happen. No experience needed — just bring a friendly attitude and comfortable shoes.

Volunteer perk: Every volunteer receives a free festival ticket to enjoy the festival before or after their shift!

Good to know:

  • Shifts are approx 3hrs & run from 9:00 AM setup through 7:00 PM breakdown. Pick the shift that fits your day.
  • This is an outdoor event. Dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle.
  • Check in at the volunteer table when you arrive to get your volunteer wristband and assignment.
