USHER RULES & PROCEDURES

Thank You for Volunteering!

Our ushers are an important part of the GCT audience experience. You are often the first person a patron encounters when they arrive, and your friendliness, professionalism, and helpfulness set the tone for their visit.

Our goal is simple:

Welcome. Assist. Inform. Enjoy.

Guidelines for Ushers

• Please arrive 15 minutes before the house opens. House opens 30 minutes prior to showtime. 
• Check in with the box office attendant who will give you specific instructions.
• Please park behind the rehearsal hall (red building in the back) and NOT behind the Fire Station.
• Familiarize yourself with the layout of the theatre space and the seating. 
• Help patrons find their seats.
• Please remind patrons to silence their mobile devices.

Dress

• Wear clean, presentable clothing - all black, or black pants, white top.
• Comfortable shoes are recommended.
• Avoid clothing with large logos or messages that may distract from performance. 

Tickets & Seating

• Ushers receive one complimentary ticket to the performance.
• Usher seats are reserved in the back two rows of the theatre.
• Please sit near a door for ease exiting. 

After the Show

• You may thank patrons for visiting GCT / hold the doors as they exit.
• Please walk the theatre space and discard of any left behind trash in the house. 
• Please return any extra programs to the program holder near the main entrance. 
• Please return your USHER badge to the front desk.
