n honor of 2018 MLK Days of Service with Volunteer Memphis, New Ballet Ensemble and School will be providing FREE dance workshops and performance for the community in honor of Friends and Family Day!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was dedicated to celebrating our common humanity, and in that spirit New Ballet Ensemble & School is hosting MLK Arts Unite for Memphis – an afternoon of arts information and performances celebrating the human spirit.

All ages are welcome to half-hour dance workshops by New Ballet, Salsa Memphis and African Dance Exploration! More arts partners will be on hand with information on their work. Guests can move freely between workshops and information tables to get a taste of each. Food trucks just outside will offer a variety of tastes of their own!

All ages are welcome to participate in all workshops! There will be 2 workshops happening in separate studios, simultaneously.

Salsa taught by Salsa Memphis | Modern Dance 

2:30 - 3:00
ZumHop (Zumba/Hip Hop Fusion | Ballet 


From 3:15-3:45, New Ballet, joined by spoken word artist Steven Fox, will perform in the main studio featuring the rich variety of dance that is their trademark!

We are also collecting coats for The Orange Mound Gallery! 

Join us on Saturday, January 20th, 1-4 p.m., for MLK Arts Unite for Memphis. It’s a great opportunity for the whole family to experience some of the best performing arts Memphis has to offer – and have a lot of fun!
