About

Become a Soup Sunday volunteer; for more than 30 years Soup Sunday has served gallons of soup and raised more than a million dollars towards the Youth Villages Mentoring Program.

We are incredibly grateful to the thousands of loyal Soup Sunday volunteers who have participated in Soup Sunday in the past. Due to the rising cases of COVID-19 and the impact it is having on the community, we have decided to limit the number of attendees and also the number of volunteers for Soup Sunday 2022.

Before volunteering, we ask that Youth Villages volunteers complete the liability and confidentiality waiver. Please also review the event waiver under documents.

Our clean up volunteers will help with trash pick up, washing dishes, and breaking down tables and decorations. Please note that there is some heavy lifting required. Please adhere to the Youth Villages Dress Code while volunteering, this includes no open toed shoes or athletic wear. You will also receive a complimentary shirt that we ask you to wear throughout the event.

If you are signing up on behalf of a large group, we would like each individual to sign up in order to collect everyone's shirt sizes. Please reach out to Lydia Lackey-Noble at Lydia.Miller@youthvillages.org if you have any additional questions.

While we feel it is important to hold this event which raises critical funds to support children and families in our community, we hope to do so in the safest way possible and have put some safety precautions in place, including:

  • Capacity
    • We have lowered attendance to 300 attendees.
  • Masks
    • Volunteers are required to wear a surgical mask covering the face and nose at all times during the event; if you need a mask and do not have one Youth Villages will provide one.
  • Sanitizing
    • We ask that all volunteers use hand sanitizer or wash their hands before and throughout the event especially while handling food; there will be hand sanitizer available throughout the venue.
When you arrive all volunteers will check in, receive a temperature check and answer no to all screening questions; please note that volunteers are required to have a temperature less than 100 degrees.

Please note that by signing up to volunteer you represent that, to the best of your knowledge, you have not: (a) tested positive for COVID within the last 14 days; or (b) presented symptoms of COVID within the last 14 days. COVID-19 symptoms may include, but are not limited to: fever; fatigue; cough; shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; sore throat; chills; muscle pain; and sudden loss of taste or smell. Please do not attend the event if you have been in contact with anyone in the past 14 days who has tested positive or is symptomatic and waiting on test results.

Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in our community, we are monitoring restrictions daily and will update our plans based on local protocols and CDC guidelines.
