About
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with vaccination efforts. Volunteer support is key to getting vaccines to the greatest number of people in our area.
Shifts and roles:
This group is for volunteers ages 18 and older from the general public and no medical experience is required. Shifts are approximately 3.5 hours long and require walking/standing for long periods of time. The roles are simple, but they are critical to make sure the site runs effectively. You will be trained at the beginning of your shift so you know how to complete your task. Roles during your shift may include screening for appointments, completing paperwork, transporting materials, directing traffic, and refilling supplies. Here's a video overview of how the vaccination process works on site.
On-time arrival:
It is critical that you arrive on time. We recommend that you plan to be parked at least 10 minutes in advance of your shift start time. Training will begin promptly at the beginning of your shift time.
Training and PPE
Briefings, training and PPE distribution will occur near the supply tent (just south of the big white shot tent). Training will begin promptly at the beginning of your shift time.
Please wear a mask. Any other PPE will be provided. All volunteers, staff, and patients will be masked throughout the process and patients will remain in their cars at all times
Parking:
Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the beginning of your shift. From Poplar, turn North onto Johnson road. Take your third right into the Johnson Park parking lot. To find this location, follow the black and white "Staff" signs posted at points along the road. After you park, walk along the sidewalk towards the white tents and cut through to the church parking lot. When you arrive, look for the big white tents. Check in at the supply tent (just south of the drive-thru shot tent).

Weather and clothing:
This vaccination site takes place entirely outdoors in the back parking lot of Germantown Baptist Church. Please make sure to dress for the weather (temperature and precipitation), wear sturdy shoes, and bring a mask. For cold weather we strongly suggest gloves and a hat.
Notifications & Cancellations:
- If you need to cancel: If you sign up for a shift, we are counting on you to come. If you are unable to make your shift, please let us know as soon as possible by logging into this system and cancelling your position, so we can add someone from the waitlist.
FAQs
While there is no guarantee that volunteers will receive the vaccine, there is a possibility that some doses may be available to volunteers. We will continue to update this section with the most current information about vaccines for volunteers.
- Is there a place to secure my belongings?
Volunteers should plan to leave valuables at home or keep important items on their person (in pockets, backpacks, etc). We do not have a location to secure personal items.
- Are there bathrooms on site?
Yes there are temporary restrooms in the parking lot. There are also permanent bathroom facilities in the volunteer parking area.
- Is this site only vaccinating people in Germantown?
No, the Germantown vaccination site is a regional site and is open to anyone who has a vaccination appointment for this location.
- Is there anything else I should know?
We are grateful for your help! Thank you for volunteering your time for vaccination efforts.
