About

Join us on Friday, June 5th to make a difference from a distance Overview: On Friday, June 5th, you can make a difference from a distance! We're going live on our Facebook page at the beginning of each hour so you can meet our nonprofit partners and learn how to help from the comfort of your own home. They'll walk you through each short project to explain how you can make a difference with things you already have on hand. Along the way, share your impact through social media using #VolunteerOdyssey so we can see your great work and give out some great prizes at the end of the day. Remember to follow our Facebook page on Friday, June 5th for all of our interviews, highlights and prizes. This is a great way to support our Memphis community. Join us! Location: Your home or office

FAQs: Q: Can I sign up for more than one project? A: Absolutely and we hope you do! Sign up for as many projects as you'd like. Each project can be completed in less than an hour. Q: Is this kid-friendly? A: YES! We love that kids have such big hearts for service. We intentionally picked projects that will work for the whole family. Some younger kids may need some help with the instructions or projects. If you have any questions please email Nikole@volunteerodyssey.com Q: Does Volunteer Odyssey accept donations? A: You're so kind to ask! Yes, we run on donations from great people like you. You can donate here. Thanks in advance! Q: Can I complete a project that I didn't register for? A: Definitely! Just join our Facebook Live to hear instructions or update your registration below to get more project details. Q: Will I need any materials for the project? A: Some require materials like markers and paper, which you may need to pick up or order if you choose that project; however, most of the materials are likely already in your home. The project description will tell you exactly what you need.

Q: Do I have to leave home for this? A: All of these projects can be completed wherever you are. For some projects you'll create things that can be mailed or dropped off at a future time when it's convenient for you. Q: Do I have to be available at the time slot for my project? A: You can complete your project at any time of the day! The Facebook Live meet and greet with the nonprofits is optional and the videos will be available on our Facebook page throughout the day. Q: Will the Facebook videos be available to watch later? A: Yes! They will be housed on our Facebook wall and the links will be sent out to registrants after the event. Q: What if I don't have a Facebook? A: You can still join us! Just visit our Facebook page that day. Q: Can I get service hours for this? A: You betcha! Each completed project posted on social media counts as a service hour. Email Nikole@volunteerodyssey.com for more information. Q: What happens if I sign up for one but can't attend/complete it? A: No worries! You can do your project at a date in the future when it's more convenient for you or you can cancel your registration if needed. Q: How do I get entered into the drawing for a prize? A: It's easy! Post about your project on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using #VolunteerOdyssey. Every post is an entry. Q: What if I'm not in Memphis? A: Welcome to southern hospitality! That's the beauty of a Virtual Volunteer Day - you can participate from anywhere and we're excited to welcome you. Of our 8 projects, 4 are completely virtual and 3 would need a teeny tiny bit of postage. With a few stamps, you can easily complete almost any project. Q: If you could describe this event with a quote, what would it be? A: We're so glad you asked! "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." - Anne Frank Q: Is there anything else I should know? A: If you made it this far we can let you in a on little secret. We will have a puppy named Dolly Parton co-hosting with us. If you want to make your furry friend famous, send us their picture next to a sign that says "Thank you for volunteering with Volunteer Odyssey" and we'll share it! Q: What if I have more questions that aren't answered here? A: We applaud your thoroughness! Just email nikole@volunteerodyssey.com and we'll get you all the answers your heart desires.
