Summary: A Withers Collection Museum and Gallery Special Events Volunteer an enthusiastic individual who provides interpretative services to Museum visitors through setting up and breaking down our facility for events and having friendly conversations with visitors. All activities relate to the Museum’s mission: to educate the public and preserve the works of Dr. Ernest C. Withers, Sr. and make his work available to the world through digitalization.
The Withers Collection offers you:
The opportunity to learn about the history of our Collection, photographic conservation, preservation, and archival processing
The ability to work with diverse groups of people
The enjoyment of behind-the-scenes preparation and participation in Special Events and Exhibitions
Aid in the set up and/or break down of event space
- Aid with food preperations
Greet and admit visitors to the museum according to Withers Collection policy
Assist members of Withers staff by performing basic administrative and technical assignments
Operate computers, printers, and other office equipment as assigned
Respond appropriately and accurately to requests for information and general questions from the public and provide visitors with up-to-date information about our exhibitions and programs

Bottom: Black pants
Shoes: Comfortable and enclosed shoes or sneakers
Talk About It Tuesday
“Talk About It Tuesday” is a monthly panel discussion with Q & A designed to bring people from the local community together to inspire discussion about the significant impact of cultural history in movements for economic and social justice
With community programs such as Talk About It Tuesday, we are committed to raising history awareness, which we hope will also raise funds and donations for our continued work in preserving and presenting our precious cultural assets.
